I began working as a teaching assistant at Bildeston Primary School many years ago when my children attended here themselves. When I first began, my role was to change books and listen to children read. The role has changed dramatically over the years. I have attended numerous training events and completed several courses to enable me to be an effective support to the teachers and pupils I work with. Over the course of time the curriculum and expectations have changed several times and I do find myself spending many hours reading the latest documentation and relevant guidelines to keep up to date with the most recent changes, a challenge but a job I still thoroughly enjoy.

My favourite subjects are Art and PSHEe. Many of the children tell me they are no good at art, this is very rarely true, when shown some techniques for the specific art pieces they are being asked to produce and asked to just have a go the results are well worth waiting for.
