What is the School Games?

The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.

The School Games are made up of four levels of activity: competition in schools, between schools, and at a county/area level.

The Sainsbury's School Games Mark, launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, has seen Bildeston Primary achieve the Gold level for the last four years.

All of the sporting links above are those within the sporting community that we work with to enhance the sporting opportunities of all our pupils.  They provide us with the following:

  • qualified sports coaches to work with teachers
  • providing our staff with training or resources to help them teach PE and sport more effectively
  • introducing new sports and activities and encourage more pupils to take up sport
  • support and involve the least active children by running school sports clubs
  • running sport competitions
  • running sports activities with other schools
  • weekly swimming lessons in KS2
