Admissions

Welcome to Bildeston Primary School and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).  The Early Years Foundation Stage covers children from birth to the end of Reception. We aim to build on close links with pre-school settings and parents to ensure that all children have a high quality early years experience. In doing so, we promote equality of opportunity including support for Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND).

You can access Schools in Suffolk admission arrangements and how to apply for a school place on the link below.

Bildeston Primary can only offer a set number of places in any one year and this number is called the planned admission number (PAN), which is based on a national formula for deciding how many children can go to a school, without causing overcrowding.

Our current PAN is 20 and school applications are processed and places are allocated by Admissions at Suffolk County Council. Always remember to state a 1st, 2nd and 3rd option, then these options can be taken into consideration.

We currently have a total of 113 pupils in our school with a capacity to take 140.

The Common Application Form 1 is for use in September at the beginning of the academic year and the Common Application Form 2 is for pupils looking to move mid-way through an academic year.

Visits to Our School

We welcome visits by prospective parents interested in viewing our school. We have open days and opportunities to visit the school prior to pupils starting with us.

We regularly hold Open Days and our next one will take place in September, which we will announce at a later date.

Is your child due to start school September 2024 or at anytime in the future?

If your child was born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020, then you will need to apply for a school place for academic year which starts in September 2024.

Information and procedures will be available during the autumn term from our school office. We also ensure that nursery settings are given admissions packs. Visits by prospective parents are most welcome.

Please feel free to contact us on 01449 740269 or send us an email (see the contact page for details) for further information or to make an appointment. We look forward to hearing from you.
