We support our children through the teaching of PSHE so that when they leave school they are equipped with the skills and values needed to support them in the wider world. We work with children to learn about moral, social and cultural issues they may encounter. Through our curriculum we want our pupils to know and understand what constitutes a healthy lifestyle and develop a growing awareness of a broad range of safety issues. The federations’ aims and values (including British values) are promoted in PSHE, but also through our school environment, our school ethos and the development of positive relationships. We provide our children with opportunities to learn about rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society. Children also learn about how to develop their independence, resilience and responsibilities so they are able to contribute to school life and the wider community. As the concerns of society about mental health and wellbeing are ever evolving, we intend to support our children in learning about healthy lifestyles and how relationships with other may affect this.
Using the PSHE Association we are continuously updated with how best to support our children and are able to access many excellent resources for teaching PSHE lessons.
